Stalls
Out lovely stallholders provide the life-and-soul of the show each year, braving all weathers to provide a fantastic shopping experience. Below we've shared some of the work they've been doing during lockdown, and how you can continue to support them until the show can return in 2021.
Pancreatic Cancer |
I started to raise awareness and funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK, along with my sister Lisa, when our Mum was in hospital at the end of July 2016. We actually discovered about Mum's tumour during a phone call I took when, as a volunteer, I was setting up the Town Show ground markings at Mesnes Park.
Lisa broke Mum out of hospital complete with compression stockings for her to attend her first and sadly her only Newton Town Show. She loved it, enjoyed the sunshine and even had her photo taken with the Town Crier.
We've made many more friends from that first horrible day that have joined with us to help raise awareness and funds. As a fundraising team hosting Family Nights, Big Purple Quiz, Charity Curry Night and Newton Town Show stall fundraising we have raised well over £8000 for the charity so far.
As we are unable to do a real stall at the show this year, we'd love it if you could make a direct donation to Pancreatic Cancer Uk via their website. You will find lots of material on their website regarding symptoms, treatment and research on-

The pandemic has increased waiting lists for some pancreatic cancer treatment by up to 2 months. But half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. They can’t afford to wait that long.
If they’re going to have a chance to survive they must be prioritised now.
Please sign at- https://notimetowait.pancreaticcancer.org.uk/ and ask NHS decision makers not to keep them waiting.
